How To Check Aa Battery Life With A Multimeter
How To Check Aa Battery Life With A Multimeter. Notice the voltage reading on the voltmeter. When i finished i was putting everything back in the box and noticed i had forgotten to put the batteries in the multimeter but it still worked.

The resistor acts as the load, the stopwatch measures time and the multimeter measures the charge remaining. Aa, aaa, c, d, or 9v will all work. Works on aa, aaa, c, d batteries.
They Have Known Voltages So They Provide A Good Baseline To Test The Meter.
The test will tell you if the battery or the device you are using has the problem. How to check aa/aaa alkaline battery using a voltmeter. I plugged the cables into my analog multimeter and touched the leads to the ends of the batteries and measured the voltage.
When I Finished I Was Putting Everything Back In The Box And Noticed I Had Forgotten To Put The Batteries In The Multimeter But It Still Worked.
Notice the voltage reading on the voltmeter. Can i test batteries with a multimeter? If a battery change is required, do it before performing testing the battery and if everything is good, go to step 2.
Connect The Multimeter To The Positive And Negative Battery Terminals.
Press positive probe onto top of battery. Take a aa battery, hold it over a hard surface (one that you won’t worry about scratching) about 2″ up, and drop the negative flat side unto the surface. Nicd or nimh cells should be ~1.4 volts, though different cell chemistries may give a range of ~1.35 to ~1.5 v.
Or The Battery Will “Bounce” And Fall Over.
Take a look, for example, at this datasheet for the duracell pc1500 aa battery. (nimh aa will approach 10a for a good cell). Test the battery under load after charging.
One Of Two Things Will Happen:
Experience will show what is needed. The key things to note are good connection, reading the correct. If the reading is more than 1.3v for alkaline battery (not rechargeable battery) then the battery still has some juice left in it, don’t throw it away.
